Mondays, 6:30PM - 7:20PM
Starts: Monday, 10/26, Ends: 12/14 total of 8 weeks

Description
Intro to Figure Skating teaches children the fundamentals and basic skills of figure skating and follows the guidelines and skill levels put forth by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA). Skaters will learn everything from basic stroking to footwork and basic jumps and spins. Each lesson will be composed of a 35 min instruction period and 15 minutes of free skate at the end. Sessions take place on Monday nights from 6:30PM to 7:20PM.
Meet the Coaching Staff!
Coaches: Intro to figure skating will be co-coached by 3 highly experienced coaches.
Jaime Staples has been figure skating for almost 20 years, and junior coaching and coaching for 10. She completed multiple moves in the field and freestyle tests and also was a competitor for Great Bay Figure Skating Club. Most recently she has been the head coach and coordinator of Oyster Rivers Learn to Skate program.
Bonnie Lachance has been coaching figure skating professionally on the seacoast for 27 years. She holds an MA in physical education and is a member of the USFSA and the Professional Skaters Association. Bonnie has coached competitive figure skaters as well as recreational skaters and has a very strong background in basic skills as well as moves in the field and freestyle.
Samantha Lucius has been involved with figure skating for 15 years. She has been a junior coach and coached along side Bonnie and Jaime in the past. Samantha has a strong background in moves in the field and freestyle as well as basic skills. Samantha has a strong interest in synchronized skating and most recently has been skating for the University of Delaware’s nationally recognized, medal winning team. All three of our coaches have a strong belief in keeping the program fun, and challenging at the same time.
